Computability with Polynomial Differential Equations

In this paper, we show that there are Initial Value Problems defined with polynomial ordinary differential equations that can simulate universal Turing machines in the presence of bounded noise. The polynomial ODE defining the IVP is explicitly obtained and the simulation is performed in real time.

Polynomial solutions of differential equations

A new approach for investigating polynomial solutions of differential equations is proposed. It is based on elementary linear algebra. Any differential operator of the form L(y) = k=N ∑ k=0 ak(x)y, where ak is a polynomial of degree ≤ k, over an infinite ground field F has all eigenvalues in F in the space of polynomials of degree at most n, for all n. If these eigenvalues are distinct, then th...

Oscillatory Solutions of Neutral Equations with Polynomial Nonlinearities

In 1, 2 , we have considered a lossless transmission line terminated by a nonlinear resistive load and parallel connected capacitance cf. Figure 1 . The nonlinear boundary condition is caused by the polynomial type V-I characteristics of the nonlinear load at the second end of the transmission line cf. Figure 1 . The voltage and current u x, t , i x, t of the lossless transmission line can be f...

We consider only those solutions x of equation (....

Linear Differential Operators for Polynomial Equations

The results of this paper spring from the elementary fact that an algebraic function satisfies a linear differential equation. Let k0 be a number field and k0 be its algebraic closure. Let P ∈ k0(x)[y] be a squarefree polynomial of degree n in y. The derivation δ = d dx extends uniquely to the algebraic closure k0(x) of k0(x). We define the minimal operator associated with P to be the monic dif...
